University Lectures & Academic Talks

As an extension of his academic passion, H.E. Vanrath frequently delivers guest lectures at universities and academic institutions. In Cambodia, he has lectured at law faculties and the Royal Academy for Judicial Professions, educating students and trainee judges/prosecutors on criminal law, criminal procedural law, and ethics. Internationally, he has been invited to speak at foreign universities.

In 2019, he also gave lectures at Chong Nan University in Wuhan, China and during his visit to China in 2025, for example, he engaged with Guangxi Minzu University and the China– ASEAN Law School, discussing legal education and potential joint programs[13]. The university even announced plans to name him an Honorary Professor in recognition of his contributions to legal collaboration[5]. His academic talks often bridge theory and practice.

He might, for instance, present an analysis of Cambodia’s anti-money laundering laws in a seminar at an overseas law school, drawing from real cases he oversaw. Or he could speak on prosecutorial ethics at a regional training workshop for law lecturers. Through these academic engagements, H.E. Vanrath helps nurture a deeper understanding of Cambodian law among scholars and builds educational ties that benefit future legal practitioners and inspire young law students.
