Judicial & Prosecutorial Cooperation

H.E. Vanrath spearheads efforts to strengthen cooperation between Cambodia’s prosecution service and its counterparts worldwide. As head of international relations for the prosecution office, he has led Cambodian delegations on official visits and working exchanges. For example, in October 2025 he headed a week-long mission to the People’s Republic of China at the invitation of China’s Supreme People’s Procuratorate[10], where he exchanged best practices with Chinese and regional prosecutors. He has been pivotal in negotiating agreements such as a cooperation Memorandum of Understanding with the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation (signed in 2024, outlining joint training and exchanges for 2025–2026).

Through his coordination, Cambodian prosecutors now engage more robustly in mutual legal assistance, evidence sharing, and joint investigations of transnational crimes. He works closely with ASEAN counterparts to streamline extradition processes and coordinate responses to issues like human trafficking, cybercrime, and terrorism. This judicial diplomacy ensures that Cambodia both assists and benefits from the collective strength of international prosecutorial networks in
pursuit of justice.
